WELLBEING ART CAFE

Whitleigh Wellbeing Art Café is a weekly peer-to-peer support group that uses arts crafts and music as a tool to bring people together to form supportive friendships and networks, combating social isolation.  They meet 2 times a week at Salvation Army Hall on Lancaster Gardens, one for arts and crafts the other for music and performance. Everyone is welcome.

Not only do the groups meet up on a weekly basis but they have developed art projects to involve the whole community including facilitating the annual Lantern Parade and also last year they created a fantastic mosaic for the community shops.

The project is not just about delivering arts for the community but also about supporting the wellbeing and confidence of the individuals who come to the Wellbeing Art and Music Group.

We were very lucky this year to secure funding from the Peoples Health Trust which means we have funding for the next few years to help grow and develop the project.
